Abstract (English)  :

Hypnosis is a spontaneous or induced altered state of consciousness different from the sleep and waking state. Hypnosis increases the threshold of pain sensation by reducing its cognitive and affective components. Conversational hypnosis, based on positive language, is more and more often used by caregivers. Formal hypnosis is the basis of hypnosedation and hypnoanalgesia. Hypnosis may be used to help birth for elective or emergency caesarean section. Hypnoanalgesia helps to improve analgesia in cases of imperfect anesthesia. Systemic therapy might be a useful tool to prevent the occurrence of posttraumatic stress disorders induced by imperfect analgesia during labor or emergency caesarean delivery.
