Dans cet article, nous nous intéresserons à la manière dont les femmes décrivent leur accouchement, et en particulier à la place qu’occupe le corps, leur corps dans cette narration. Dans une première partie, nous nous intéresserons au démarrage de l’accouchement et à la manière dont une capacité d’action ou actantialité est attribuée à une entité émergente que nous appellerons le corps-utérus : nous verrons en particulier que la constitution de ce corps-utérus est effectuée au travers de médiations extrêmement variées, parmi lesquelles le savoir obstétrical occupe une place non négligeable. Dans un second temps, nous caractériserons les différentes distributions de l’actantialité qui sont repérables dans les récits, autrement dit nous nous intéresserons à la manière dont les différents couples « sujet de la narration »/ « corps » sont définis et à leur dynamique dans le temps. Puis, nous analyserons la manière dont les professionnels interviennent sur la mise en place de ces distributions. Enfin, nous reviendrons sur la notion d’aliénation et nous essaierons de voir dans quelles conditions, la situation de l’accouchement est vécue comme aliénante.
