Les mères couraient un risque élevé de développer des symptômes de stress post-traumatique et / ou d’autres problèmes de santé mentale. Il est à noter que les participants à l’étude ont revécu le traumatisme de voir leur bébé dans l’unité de soins intensifs néonatals, ont démontré un comportement d’hypervigilance et ont identifié le manque de soutien pertinent nécessaire lorsque leur bébé était à la maison.

Les antécédents psychiatriques ont un impact direct et indirect dans la survenue de l’état de stress post-traumatique dans le post-partum justifiant une attention particulière tout au long de la période périnatale. D’autres études prospectives longitudinales menées dès le début de grossesse recherchant l’existence d’antécédents psychiatriques spécifiques semblent nécessaires afin d’en préciser les mécanismes.

Les investigations systématiques sur les impacts émotionnels d’avortements spontanés répétés ont été peu nombreuses. Cette base de données créée par l'Alliance francophone pour l'accouchement respecté est gérée
par le Collectif interassociatif autour de la naissance (CIANE, https://ciane.net).
Elle est alimentée par les contributions de bénévoles intéressés par le partage des informations scientifiques.

réduction d’impôt égale à 66 % du montant dans la limite de 20% du revenu imposable (voir texte)
